We hope this finds you and your family in good health. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety and health.
By its very nature, massage and bodywork requires skin-to-skin contact and you should be familiar with the fact that infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. As we navigate life with additional requirements and modify existing measures due to the coronavirus, please help us to support all of our clients by cooperating with some new requirements.
The Bodyworks Wellness Center follows Practice Guidelines recommended by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) and New York State, along with infection control recommendations
made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
You will see some changes when it comes time for your next appointment. We have made these changes to help protect our clients, our families and ourselves.
We will communicate with you beforehand to obtain updates to your health information and ask you specifically about your potential exposure to COVID-19.
You will be required to wear a face mask to your appointment.
When you arrive in the parking lot, please text your therapist you have arrived. We ask that you wait in your vehicle until we text you or call you to come in. This ensures that we keep the number of people in the reception area to a minimum. We also need to have sufficient time to sanitize the office prior to your arrival.
We will greet you at the door and use a no touch thermal temperature screening to confirm that you don’t have a fever.
If you do not have a face mask, we will sell you one for a small fee.
We will ask you to use hand sanitizer upon entering the office. You will find hand sanitizer in the reception area and in other places in the office for you to use as needed.
You will be required to sign in on a tracking log so that we can follow tracing protocol. The tracking log will be on a clip board in the reception area near the entrance.
You be required to sign an intake addendum and informed consent waiver AT EACH VISIT that states, “I understand that close contact with people increases the risk of infection from COVID-19. By signing this form, I acknowledge that I am aware of the risks involved and give consent to receive massage from this practitioner.”
If you feel ill on the day of your scheduled session, please inform your therapist via phone call or text as soon as possible. There is no penalty for canceling your appointment due to illness. Massage is not advised if you have any symptoms of illness. Note: if you need to reschedule your appointment for any other reason, we ask that you do so 48 hours in advanced, so that we can attempt to fill the appointment.
You are required to wear a face mask while you are in the building, and during your massage.
After your massage we are required to follow an extensive cleaning and sanitizing protocol as set forth by New York State.
Due to this factor we will be seeing fewer clients per day, due to the time requirements of the new sanitation procedures.
We suggest that you book your sessions in advance. Find a day and time that regularly works for you and we can book that out, so you are sure to have your preferred appointment time. Additionally, consider advance payments whether it be paying through our website or purchasing packages. These will expedite the administrative work, so we can spend our time doing what we love and what you came for.
Please be aware that we have taken many steps and instituted more internal controls to be able to re-open safely. We have given a great deal of consideration and effort to keep our clients safe and continue to deliver the quality service that you are accustomed to.
Note: Instead of the hour to hour massage that clients are accustomed to, Linda will be seeing clients on a session basis, which means that clients will experience an all-inclusive customized bodywork session designed to meet your wellness goals. A session will not exceed a 90-minute time frame. The cost will be $150 for a session. This will be effective July 1st 2020. Gift certificates, packages and prior arrangements will be honored as written or agreed upon. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Linda directly.
If you would prefer, we can schedule you with another one of our awesome skilled therapists.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we have taken to keep you, and every client, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 518-459-4325 or use our on-line scheduler in our website.
Thank you for being our clients. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back to a safe, therapeutic touch environment.
